The Fascinate Test, created by Sally Hogshead, is a communication assessment which help to discover how you’re seen.

In all honesty, I have never thought that mystique is my primary advantage.

Mystique? Me?

My Archetype — The Secret Weapon

Dashboard | How To Fascinate

The key words of the secret weapon is:

  1. Nimble;
  2. Unassuming;
  3. Independent;
  4. Reticent;
  5. Autonomously Creative.

A person who do his/her work in a non-flashy way and make great contribute to the company’s performance, but do so in an unassuming manner. Pretty cool, right?

I believe that mystique is an attractive and captivating characteristic. It’s like reading a fascinating novel. With the gradual understanding of the story, readers become obsessed with it. A person who has mystique as the fascinating advantage always keeps a sense of mystery, rarely showing the inner emotions. Rather than showing off swaggeringly, mystique person is willing to observe quietly, for the non-flashy personality and sharp mind.

As for innovation, as Sally Hogshead said, innovation is a language of creativity. An innovation person is a great solution developer, likes to create, explore and come up with new ideas. It is a crucial trigger for a marketer.

It not totally felt true to me…

I don’t think I am a standard mystique person.

Behaviors become complicated under the guidance of emotions and moods. I do fit some characteristics of this type of person. Showing off in the limelight would exhaust my energy and focus. And I have to say that I like working and thinking independently, I can’t help but enjoy the sense of accomplishment of solving problems by myself.

But I am not a person who is reticent and rarely shows my inner emotions. I tend to keep a proper distance from others before establishing a trusting relationship. In other words, I am not a natural socializer, I worry that overly casual emotional expression will make a bad impression on others. Once the trusting relationship has been established, I will not mind showing my emotions to people I trust.

But it may be that the way you see yourself is different from how the world sees you. Perhaps, from others’ perspectives, I spend too much time establishing a trust relationship, and I am not brave and confident enough to express myself.

The significance of this test is to allow me to reexamine myself from another angle. We don’t need to be overly concerned about other people’s opinions and fully accept other people’s opinions, but isn’t it a way to better understand ourselves by taking others’ opinions for reference appropriately?

Become A Secret Weapon in Building My Personal Brand

To sum up, the secret weapon is a person who is down-to-earth, independent, and sincere, and can create miracles with their creative ideas. He/she can make people feel reliable through his/her outstanding performance while maintaining a sense of mystery.

If I make full use of these characteristics, the secret weapon will become a secret weapon in building my personal brand. At work, nobody likes those who talk big and do nothing. A person who is willing and able to solve problems independently will be respected by colleagues. And the appropriate sense of mystery can also add points to the charm. Of course, to do so, I need to continue to learn and improve myself.
